Female deities

Since the first civilizations, the goddesses have been present

The mother goddess, the feminine deity par excellence, Mother Nature, the one who gives life. We can safely say that each era in the history of our civilization gave importance to the goddesses until they ceased to be present in our lives, and were replaced by Catholic saints or icons that have fans in their modern manifestation.

Although we can say that at first these goddesses were perhaps an allegory of someone who existed, they then left and attributes that society needed were created for them in the hope that their faith and their worship and their life would be easier. We can say that in the beginning, the Sumerian goddesses were the same as the Egyptian goddesses, but with the name changed. Sumerian goddess Istar is Isis in Egypt, Nammu is Maat in Egypt, and Innana is the Egyptian goddess Hathor. The attributes are the same, they were neighbors, what really happened on the part of these goddesses, if they existed, was shared by both cultures.

When we arrive in Greece, we find similarities but degraded. There, the gods are capricious, eccentric, and somewhat evil. Although the goddesses were later assimilated by Rome, changing the names, are more positive than the gods. The Greek goddess Athena was Minerva in Rome. Both were goddesses of wisdom, probably a holdover from Isis and Istar. The Greek goddess Artemis is Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt and wild animals, probably reminiscent of the Egyptian goddess Menkeret. Not to forget Aphrodite, the Greek goddess who is Venus the Roman goddess of love, sex and female beauty reminiscent of the goddesses Hathor and Innana.

At this point, Christianity arises and the gods are ended, there is only one God and the woman is not in the plans to be present. Even so, the Catholic Saints have in a way covered that role.
